You Don’t Have To Figure It All Out

Because God is already holding your future in His hands

Praise the Lord, my friend,

All of us are aware that our lives are really uncertain.

We can work hard, plan everything carefully, and still end up in situations that look nothing like what we expected.

And when that happens, it is easy to feel like the ground beneath our feet is shaking.

That feeling is valid, my friend. But we should not let it rule our hearts.

Because when we let fear sit too long in our hearts, it slowly begins to change the way we see everything around us.

We start looking at the future with worry instead of hope, but God does not want us, His children, to live weighed down like that, my friend.

Hence, He has told us in Jeremiah 29:11:

Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Such an uplifting and powerful verse, no?

It reminds us that even when everything feels uncertain, God’s plans for us are not uncertain at all.

He already knows the way ahead, and His desire is not to harm us but to give us hope and a future that is secure in Him.

My friend, I know that it is not always easy to hold on to this verse.

Especially when the waiting feels too long or when life keeps throwing challenges at us, the heart and mind naturally drift toward worry.

That is why God reminds us again in Psalm 46:10

Psalm 46:10

“Be still and know that I am God.”

My friend, being still in the above verse, does not mean ignoring our struggles or not working towards our goals.

It means pausing in the middle of our racing thoughts and remembering that God is in control.

And, when we choose to do that, peace begins to rise in our hearts.

Yass, all problems may still be there, but they no longer feel as heavy because we know that God is carrying us through them.

I have experienced this myself.

In May, I was feeling uncertain about a lot of things.

Things weren’t making any sense, and I was feeling restless inside.

I tried to pray, but just couldn’t put all my heart into it.

I stopped reading the Word and was feeling distant from Him, even though He was always near.

But then, the following Sunday, a brother named Kuljeet from my church was delivering the word from the pulpit.

It revolved around Romans 12:12, and God spoke to me through it.

Romans 12:12

“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”

As I was hearing the word, I closed my eyes and said, “Thank you, Lord, I trust you. I surrender to you completely, let your will be done in my life.”

The situation I was in didn’t change right away after saying that, but my heart felt lighter.

I had a wide smile on my face, and I literally wanted to dance while walking back from the Church.

I was experiencing a sort of peace that I don’t know how to explain, my friend.

Maybe that is the kind of peace Isaiah 26:3 talks about:

Isaiah 26:3

“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.”

We think that we will feel truly at peace if we have everything figured out in life.

But the Word of God tells us that perfect peace is found in keeping our minds fixed on God’s faithfulness and trusting Him fully.

When we do that, fear loses its grip on our hearts and hope begins to grow again.

And that hope gives us the courage to take the next step.

Not only that, but each step we take is also guided by God, as said in Proverbs 3:5-6

Proverbs 3:5-6

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

We don’t have to know about the whole path ahead, my friend.

All we need to do is trust God with all our hearts, take the next step, knowing that the creator of the Universe is guiding our way.

So, the next time you feel overwhelmed by uncertainty, pause for a moment, look up to God, and surrender yourself completely to Him.

I know it is easier said than done when everything around is falling apart.

Even praying seems hard as words refuse to come out of your mouth.

If you’re feeling that way lately, I want you to pray this simple prayer with me:

“God, I do not know what tomorrow holds, but I trust that you do. Father God, help me to hold onto that trust and take control of every aspect of my life. Lord, give me peace for today and courage and guidance for the next step. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”

My friend, know that life will always carry some uncertainty, but remember that your future in Christ is never uncertain.

His plans are good, His presence is with you right now, and His peace is available the moment you turn to Him.

Will you take that step of trust today, my friend?

Please let me know.

And if there is something specific you are feeling uncertain about, reply to this email and let me know. I would love to pray for you.

God bless you.
