When Fear Tries To Take Over

Let God’s saving hand be the strength you lean on.

Hosea 1:7

“Yet I will show love to Judah; and I will save them—not by bow, sword or battle, or by horses and horsemen, but I, the Lord their God, will save them.”

Praise the Lord, my friend,

The above verse is such a powerful reminder of who truly saves us.

God makes it very clear that our salvation and deliverance do not come from human strength, weapons, strategies, or anything that we can achieve on our own.

It comes only from Him.

We live in a world where people often put their trust in money, education, influence, health, or even government systems to feel safe.

And while those things may help in some ways, they are not where true security lies.

God says He Himself is the one who saves, and His love is what brings us through.

I want to be honest with you, my friend. Sometimes even as believers, we try to fight our battles with our own strength.

We worry, we plan, we stress, and we exhaust ourselves thinking of every possible solution.

But this verse tells us to shift our eyes back to the Lord, because it is He who saves us, not the bow, not the sword, not the battle, and not the horses.

Think about Israel at the Red Sea in Exodus 14.

The people were terrified because Pharaoh’s army was chasing them, and the sea was in front of them.

From a human point of view, there was no way out. But Moses told them:

Exodus 14:14

“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

And as we know, that is exactly what happened.

God parted the sea, something no human weapon or strength could ever do.

In the same way, my friend, when we face struggles in life, whether they are spiritual, emotional, or physical, we must remember that our deliverance comes from God alone.

As it is said in Psalms 20:

Psalms 20:7

“Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.”

The word of God encourages you today not to rely on your own strength but to trust in the Lord’s saving power.

He loves you, and His love is not passive, my friend. It is active, strong, and faithful.

His love steps in when you cannot, His love fights battles you cannot fight, and His love saves you in ways you could never imagine.

Let me share something personal with you, my friend.

When I first came to know the Lord at the start of this year, I had so many questions.

I thought I needed to have everything figured out before I could fully trust Him.

But what I learned is that faith is not about having every answer.

Faith is about trusting that God’s love will carry you through even when you do not see a way.

And just like in Hosea 1:7, He proved that again and again.

So I invite you today to hand over your battles to Him.

Pray with faith, read His word, and remind yourself daily that it is the Lord your God who saves you.

You do not have to fight with your own bow or sword. And, you do not have to rely on your own resources.

God, the creator of everything is Himself is with you, and that is more than enough, my friend.

As Isaiah 41:10 says:

Isaiah 41:10

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

My friend, let this verse be your guard in the moments when fear or uncertainty tries to creep into your heart.

Hold on to it and remind yourself that God Himself has promised to strengthen you, help you, and uphold you with His righteous right hand.

Praise God, my friend.
