Seek Him First

Not to just to receive but to feel at rest.

Matthew 6:31-33

“So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’... But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

Hey, dear beloved child of God,

Jesus said the above words during the sermon on the Mount to people who understood what it felt like to lack.

Those people weren’t rich but were living day to day, uncertain of how tomorrow would unfold.

And, maybe that’s where you’re now.

You’re working hard, managing what you have, and still it feels like the numbers never work in your favor.

The bills come in faster than the money, and the stress of trying to make it all work doesn’t seem to ease up.

And that stress can slowly start to wear on your confidence, your sleep, and even your faith.

You might start wondering if God really sees what you're going through.

You read the verse and try to believe it, but when the numbers don’t line up, it can feel like the promise doesn’t either.

And this is why Jesus said what He said.

He didn’t say that to dismiss your struggle, but He was calling you to place your trust not in your income, planning, but in our heavenly Father who already knows what you need.

Seek first the kingdom,” He said.

You see, that’s not about doing more church things or pretending you’re not struggling.

It’s about turning to God, staying honest before Him, bringing Him your need, and still choosing to walk in obedience, even when nothing is changing.

My friend, He knows your hands are tired, your rent is due, and you’ve been counting every coin and still coming up short.

But He hasn’t forgotten you, and He is fighting your battles for you.

Hence, keep seeking Him first, not to seek His provision but to rest in it.

Praise God, my friend.
