Miracles Begin with a Step

See how one step of faith with Jesus can change everything.

John 9:5-11

“While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” After saying this, he spit on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and put it on the man’s eyes. “Go,” he told him, “wash in the Pool of Siloam.”

So the man went and washed, and came home seeing. His neighbors and those who had formerly seen him begging asked, “Isn’t this the same man who used to sit and beg?”

Some claimed that he was. Others said, “No, he only looks like him.” But he himself insisted, “I am the man.” “How then were your eyes opened?” they asked.

He replied, “The man they call Jesus made some mud and put it on my eyes. He told me to go to Siloam and wash. So I went and washed, and then I could see.”

Praise the Lord, my friend,

The above incident in John 9 is one of the most beautiful reminders of what happens when Jesus enters a life.

The man in this passage had been blind from birth.

He had no memory of what light even looked like.

His days were filled with darkness, dependence, and begging.

But when Jesus came near, everything changed for him.

You see, how simple the act of obedience was.

Jesus did something unusual, placing mud on his eyes, and told him to wash in the Pool of Siloam.

The man could have laughed, questioned, or ignored the command, but instead, he trusted and went.

That small step of faith led to the greatest miracle he had ever known, and that is, he came home seeing.

This shows us what it really means to walk in faith.

Jesus asks us to trust Him, even when His instructions seem unusual or too simple.

The blind man did not argue or hesitate.

He did not try to reason out why mud and water could never heal eyes that had never seen before.

Instead, he went as he was told, and in that simple act of obedience, his world was transformed.

He returned not only with sight but with a testimony that no one could deny.

This is the beauty of faith, my friend.

Faith often feels like walking when you cannot see, yet it leads you to the very place where your eyes are opened.

It is is trusting the Word of Jesus more than your own doubts or limitations.

Isaiah 46:16

“I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them.’’

What a powerful reminder this is, no?

God does not only heal blindness, He also leads the blind.

He takes us by the hand when the road is unclear and guides us along paths we have never walked before.

Where we see darkness, He brings light and where we feel stumbling stones, He makes the road smooth for us.

And through it all, He assures us of His presence, promising that He will never forsake us.

My friend, maybe you find yourself in a place today where you cannot see what lies ahead.

You may feel as though you are walking down a road that is unfamiliar, uncertain, or even frightening.

Take courage in knowing that the same Jesus who touched the blind man’s eyes is with you.

He is still the Light of the world, and His light can break into your darkness.

All He asks is that you take the step He places before you, no matter how small or unusual it may seem.

And as you take that step, on the other side, you may find not only an answer to your prayers but also a new testimony of God’s faithfulness.

So let us step forward together, trusting Him and walking in His light.

God bless you.

Praise God, my friend.
