Before You Lose Hope
This part of Job might speak to you today.
Job 3: 7-9
“May that night be barren; may no shout of joy be heard in it. May those who curse days curse that day, those who are ready to rouse Leviathan. May its morning stars become dark; may it wait for daylight in vain and not see the first rays of dawn.
Praise the Lord, my friend,
In the above verses, we see Job speak from a place of great pain.
He wishes the day of his birth had not come because his life feels too heavy for him to carry.
And many times in our lives, we also go through days that feel dark.
We try to stay strong, but the weight of trouble makes it hard to even think straight.
In fact, some days feel so hard that we wonder if God is still near us at all.
That feeling is valid, my friend, but it does not mean God has stepped away.
The Bible says in Psalm 34:18:
Psalm 34:18
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
So even when life feels dark, and you cannot make sense of what is happening, God is still right there with you.
He does not leave you when your heart feels weak.
But, you might be thinking, “If God is near me, why do I still feel so low?”
My friend, Job, also felt this way.
He cried out to God with strong words, yet God still watched over him.
Job did not see any sign of hope in that moment, but later God spoke to him and brought him through the pain.
That same truth is for you today.
God sees the darkness you walk through, and he sees every tear you shed, even the ones you do not speak about.
And just like he carried Job through his pain, he will carry you, too.
Isaiah 41:10
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
See, the word of God says that God will strengthen you and uphold you.
That means you do not have to face your hard season by yourself.
God holds your hand and walks with you, even when you feel tired, and you do not know what to do next.
This does not mean everything will be easy, but it does mean nothing in your life is wasted.
God can turn even the darkest day into a part of your story that shows his power.
So please keep trusting God, praying to Him, and opening your Bible each day, even if you read only one verse.
Each small step you take in obedience builds your faith, and God honors every step you take toward him.
Let’s pray together
Dear gracious heavenly father, I come to you with my friend who is reading this, and together we place our hearts before you.
You see the things we face and the things we do not talk about.
When life feels dark or heavy, please stay close to us and help us trust that you are still working in our lives.
Please give my friend strength in the areas where they feel weak. Give them peace in the places where their thoughts feel troubled.
Guide them through each step of their day and remind them that you never leave your children.
Help them hold on to your promises and keep their eyes on you even when the road feels long.
Thank you, Lord, for loving us, for hearing us, and for walking with us.
We trust you, and we submit our lives in your hands. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Praise God, my friend,
